Hello all,

I am trying to use the IFERROR formula below

=IFERROR(C15+C16+C17)/C21,NA())

Excel is using the parentheses, for the order of operations, to close the IFERROR formula. Is there a way to maintain order of operations, without parentheses?

Thanks,

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
The number of right parentheses must match the number of left parentheses.
There is a set of parentheses for the IFERROR, and one for your SUM (since you want to add all the value before dividing). You are missing a right parend, i.e.
Code:
[COLOR=#333333]=IFERROR((C15+C16+C17)/C21,NA())[/COLOR]
You could likewise use:
Code:
[COLOR=#333333]=IFERROR(SUM(C15:C17)/C21,NA())[/COLOR]
or
Code:
[COLOR=#333333]=IF(C21=0,NA(),SUM(C15:C17)/C21)[/COLOR]

You really cannot get around it without using parentheses. But why is that really a concern?
