The data in column A if it matches column B should be blank in Column C.
If it doesn't match, the data in column A should go in column C.

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding what you are asking. My data starts from A2 to A6 and B2 to B6. I need results from C2 to C6.

Put my formula above in C2, then drag it down.

By the way, cudos on specifying your range. This should have been specified in your original post along the criteria as to how you determine the result in Col C. It may seem obvious to you, but to those of us who aren't clarivoyant, we have no clue. So, next time, start your posts off with a specific range, where the range starts and HOW you get your desired result. Then, we can take it from there. :)

Your formula won't work, because if a3 for example matches b2, I want a blank in c3.

Using your formula this is what I got. Notice the last column. For example Alou appears in both A and B, but should be a blank in C. Same for Ashby.
Any names that match in A and B, should be a blank in C

So you're saying if it appears ANYWHERE in col B. See, you DID NOT specify that. A very important factor to your desired result that you LEFT OUT!

=IF(COUNTIF(B:B,A2)>0,"",A2)

Yes, yes. Sorry, but my first language is English. If it appears anywhere in column B, it should be a blank. It's a Match problem I thing. I apologize for frustrating you, but can you help?
