I have a spreadsheet with imported data in the first worksheet tab that didn't align in uniform columns. Invoice number, amount and date information are row by row, but they landed sporadically column-wise. In some rows, all three items merged into one cell in the first column.

The second worksheet tab has a basic list of invoice numbers that I'd like to flag for any matching anywhere from the first worksheet tab of imported data. Can that be done using a formula that doesn't require the first worksheet tab to be un-merged and beautified in order to function?

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
You can see if something exists somewhere in another range with eg:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(A1,Sheet1!A1:E10))))>0
