Matching two columns with slightly different data

Hi, I have two lists of Accounts that I need to consolidate. These lists come from two different sources and in a lot of cases the individual names are slightly different. Ie One list has 'AC Nielsen', the other one has 'Nielsen Media'.

The best tool I have found so far is a partial Vlookup using "*"& either side of the look up value. however I found that this won't work for a couple of reasons:

1. "AC Nielsen" isn't going to match with "Nielsen Media"

2. If the look up value is "Browns", that might have several matches, however it will only bring back the first match which might not be correct.

What is best practice here?
