Maximum value

I have a large spreadsheet for about 800 sales persons with the following data covering the Q1 - Q3 sales/ man days

Salesperson and Number of days
Mike 2
Mike 3
Mike 0.5
Mike 6
Mike 11.5
John 2
John 4
John 6
Cindy 2
Cindy 0.5
Cindy 2.5
Jack 1
Paulo 0

The last values that gives a summation of all that individuals sales days e.g. that for Mike = 11.5, John=6, Cindy =2.5 are the values I want to extract from the sheet. Could someone please help me out with a simple method of extracting the max value for corresponding to each entry. Thanks

Try a pivot table.
You have to have a header row, click and drag the sales person into ROW and Number of days into data (double click on it and select MAX) then click finish.
