Merging from Excel to Word

Prior to changing to XP, we merged pay sheet data from Excel to Word. We could adjust the number decimal places in Excel and the numbers were shown in Word as requested. Now that we are using XP, I have changed the decimal places in Excel, attempted to “Round”, attempted to “Truncate”, attempted to use “change to value”, etc. and when the documents merge, the values are showing 15 or better decimal places. Do you have any suggestions on how I can merge to Word and keep only 2 or 3 decimal places?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Hi

Reset the cell to General and tye the value as needed and re do the data source in the merge or re build the toggle field in WORD just in case, if is still wrong re format excels cell and try again

I'm not sure which way it is, but I think it's like this...

XP, by default, uses ODBC to connect to Excel, where prior versions used DDE. (I think it's because XP mail merge is to Access by default.) Anyway, open your main doc, then get the data, but tell it you want to use a DDE connection instead...

Let me know if that doesn't help and I'll look it up to find the exact reason.
