I have a cash flow statement with 10 years, and an IRR calculation at the end. If I change the analysis period to 5 years, can I get the IRR calculation to change from covering 10 cells to 5 cells? Is this possible? Thanks!

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Assume your cashflows are in cells b2:b11 and you want ot use either the first 10 or first 5 or first whatever, put this value in c2.

=IRR(INDIRECT("B2:B"&1+C2),.01)

Change the .01 to be your initial guess.
