I have a range of data from another workbook that I would like to collect.

From this workbook [2006] I have labeled name ranges to use for the data

Is it possible to sum data from an external workbook using labeled ranges and if so here is my attempt:

=SUM('[2006 License Fees.xls]PLATFORM'!KGBT Aug-06)

If I desire info based on column B, which refers to KGBT for the range

Aug-06 to Dec-06, thus AB:AF

Do I need to include column B:AF for labeled name range and the row?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Sorry the earlier post makes very little sense, what was I smoking!

I need data that is from as follows:

row42 column B = KGBT

row42 column AB:AF = Aug06-Dec06

I would like to sum(KGBT Aug06-Dec06) using labeled name ranges

this also refers to an external work book,

If I label name ranges B:B and AB:AF in the workbook refered to [2006 'License Fees.xls]PLATFORM'!

Is it possible to sum this argument using name ranges, my attempt was thus, but it does not work

=SUM('[2006 License Fees.xls]PLATFORM'!KGBT Aug-06)

Any advice would be great
