I have a column of thousands of values. I have sorted them based on their absolute values, so positive and negative amounts that offset are usually next to each other. I need to identify the amounts that offset with each other, i.e. "net to zero"
For example:
In column A I have the following values:
-100
+100
-50
+50
-25
+25
-20
-15
-10
+10
In this example, I want to identify in the neighboring column the amounts that offset each other. So it will say "nets to zero" next to everything EXCEPT for the -20 and -15, as those do not have offsets.
I tried this formula: =IF(A1+A2=0,"nets to zero","")
However, this formula only puts the text on one of the offsetting cells, not both. Any help?
