I have a couple of worksheets. The 1st has drop down menus made up of the items from the 2nd sheet. On that 2nd sheet, each of those items has been assigned a value.

I would to be able to select an item from the drop down menu and have the corresponding value be input in a different cell.

What would be the function or macro to best accomplish this?

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
INDEX-MATCH or VLOOKUP depending on the layout of data on the 2nd sheet.

Don't think you need a macro?

Have data validation in the 1st cell.

Have a match/vlookup function in the second to select from 2nd sheet.
