Need help! how do you deduct one date from another?

I have a table showing stock items with a 'last issue' date. I want to be able to calculate how many years from today the last issue was. The list is approx 12000 line long!

If your Last Issue dates appear in column C, a formula in column D something like =(NOW()-C1)/365, then copy the formula down.
