Hi All,

Above is an example of the data in my Main Sheet I allocate to our data operators. I just simply put name in ""Done By"" column & Allocation date in ""Date"" column and copy paste the data in their personal sheet with the same headings. I just wanna know if there is any formula or any way to link the Main Sheet with data processors' sheet that I just put name in ""Done By"" column and date in ""Date"" column and my processors' sheet is incrementally updated with the new data when they open their sheet.

MS-Excel 2003 is installed in my office.

Please help it is urgent.

The short answer is "no", Excel can't move or copy data between worksheets or workbooks in this way using its standard functionality.

On the other hand if you're able to write code in VBA you can do almost anything in Excel, including the scenario you describe. However since you're asking the question I guess you're not familiar with VBA, so you would have to rely on someone else writing it for you.

The members of this forum are remarkably helpful and will assist you towards a solution: this might take minutes or it might take days or weeks depending on how much of their spare time they're prepared to give up for you.

However if it's more urgent than that and you have an absolute deadline for getting a guaranteed solution in place, you might be better off commissioning a professional programmer to complete the task within your timescale.

You could create a pivot table, with the "Done by" field as a page field. Then do "Show pages", which will create one sheet per "processor". Then, after you have made updates to the data all you need to do is refresh the original pivot table, which should refresh all the pages too.

Let me know if you are not familiar with pivot tables and need a more detailed description.

If the tables look the same and all you want is to update the corresponding cell after filling it in the the first table.

Can't you just copy the cell you want to update from, rightclick the cell you want updated, paste special, tick paste link, choose text.
