Hi,

I need to calculate the number of working days between 2 dates assuming a 4 day week - is this possible?

Column A will have a list of future dates and in column B I need to work out the number of working days (Mon - Thurs) from Today() until the Column A date.

Any help much appreciated!

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

B2, just enter and copy down:

=SUMPRODUCT(ISNUMBER(MATCH(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(TODAY()&":"&A2))),{2,3,4,5},0))+0)

I am not sure....but try this:

=NETWORKDAYS.INTL(A5,E2,1)-SUMPRODUCT(--(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(A5&":"&E2)),2)=5))

E2, is today's date.

Maybe this will work.

Claire: Aladin is an expert and a master in excel. Coming from him, it's what you should try.

Aladin's formula works for me, and Jborg's, but if you have Excel 2010 you can use NETWORKDAYS.INTL like this

=NETWORKDAYS.INTL(A2,TODAY(),"0000111")

[in "0000111" the zeroes signify the working days, 1 non-working days, and the string runs from Monday to Sunday]

....or in any version of excel you can use this formula

=SUM(INT((WEEKDAY(A2-{2,3,4,5})+TODAY()-A2)/7))
