New Project, Looking for Guidence

Hello Everyone!

First post and just starting to read through the forms for some of the answers, but hoping I may be able to get some guidance to avoid and unnecessary or uninformed mistakes.

Project: A master workbook that is not accessible to anyone but myself and my companies Controller and CEO, but I want all workbooks we create to be able to access information in it without opening it.

Information to Access: Commonly used/needed macros, Named ranges, static data tables.

My company uses Excellent Financials (Excel plug-in from Compeat Advantage) for all of our reporting and I am attempting to make the reports easier to generate as well as make the information used in them consistent.

Thank you in advance for advice and help. Since I am sure most of these have been covered links to other threads would be great as well as advice or pointers in the correct direction.

As I understand it, you simply cannot access a workbook without opening it. I spent a long time searching the web for something just like that a few months ago, but to no avail...

I have seen several threads on that here. I am still reading through the code, it is new to me and I am attempting to grasp it all.

I think its one of those 'will open in background' things, but Nimrod's post seems to say you can pull info from a closed workbook
