I'm being told VBAs will no longer be allowed at our company for security reasons. I'm a beginner at best but I do use it for some simple spreadsheets daily. I mostly use it to reduce the need for user input.

What is an alternative I can look into?

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
IMO, nothing. Best you can do is resign yourself to the fact that the company will likely expect the same results even though you'll have one hand tied behind your back while standing on one foot and still do your job. OK, all kidding aside, a lot can be done with formulas to solve problems (I have seen some mind bending things being done here) but to me, they're akin to rocket science. Users are probably just going to have to do more. I'm being pessimistic I guess - usually people who make these dumb decisions are ignorant of the affects and usually don't care.
