not enough resources

Win XP Professional office 2003 amd Athlon 3g and 2gig main memory the hard drive is 400g
From time to time I get this Error message that informs that excel can not do some task or other as the are not enough resources,
Is there a setting that I can change to increase the amount of resources are available?

No - Excel 2003 will only use up to 1GB of memory at most. The only thing you can do is make sure that the full 1GB is available when needed by closing other applications, and only have the necessary workbooks open.
