I have an order form with a "customer number" that is different with each order. I manually type in the number. But I would like to have the number automatically change/increase by 1 increment when I open and save the next new customer form. Is this possible?

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Yes, it is. You could put something like this into your ThisWorkbook module ...

<font face=Tahoma New><SPAN style="color:#00007F">Private</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN> Workbook_BeforeSave(<SPAN style="color:#00007F">ByVal</SPAN> SaveAsUI <SPAN style="color:#00007F">As</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Boolean</SPAN>, Cancel As <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Boolean</SPAN>)
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">With</SPAN> Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1")
        .Value = .Value + 1
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">End</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">With</SPAN>
<SPAN style="color:#00007F">End</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN>

<SPAN style="color:#00007F">Private</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN> Workbook_Open()
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">With</SPAN> Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1")
        .Value = .Value + 1
    <SPAN style="color:#00007F">End</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">With</SPAN>
<SPAN style="color:#00007F">End</SPAN> <SPAN style="color:#00007F">Sub</SPAN></FONT>
