Does anyone know how I can obtain the actual day from a date in Excel. I want to create an ongoing list of days from a calendar within Excel.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Format the cell as "dddd" to get the day.

Or if you want to leave the original date and show the day in another cell, if your date is in A1, then use this formula:

=TEXT(A1,"dddd")
