odbc opening from excel but not from powerpivot

I have a odbc connection that in the excel window will bring in data perfectly,but when opening up the powerpivot window and trying to connect. I get and error the says "there are no tables were found in the data source check the connetion information and login credentials" I have not change anything?????????
