Hi, guys.

Quick question: I want to only allow users to paste values (no conditional formatting, no data validation, no formula alteration, NOTHING other than values) on a protected sheet. That means, I want users not to have any other option but to paste values and/or manually type in those values. Is this possible?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I had never thought about this before, and I want to make a file with padded walls so other users that might be less tech-savvy than me won't just mess up the whole worksheet.

Thanks!

Hi Ron Oliver,

Maybe you need to make an input form or an input sheet that you then grab values from by formula or macro to populate your protected sheet. The macro can turn off the protection, update the data then return the protection.

Yeah, this is actually not really what I'm after. I can easily use macro in my document, but I want people who are much less familiar with Excel to use it. It's just easier for me to just tell them "always paste values", but I was wondering if there is kind of a built-in feature for me to only allow pasting values.
