My Excel 2010 application opens in a minimized window. How do I set it to open maximized?

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Do not click the Maximize button.

Drag the sides till it fills the screen then use Exit on the File tab to close it. The next time it should open full-screen.

Thanks. I appreciate your suggestion and it works. It seems like a work-around though. Is this a flaw in Excel 2010? I ask because both Word 2010 & Access 2010 open in maximized windows.

This is the second thread in a few days where this question has been asked so I think it might be a flaw in Excel or Windows.

This behaviour used to happen a lot with Internet Explorer (and the workaround is the same).

OK. Thank you for your quick and effective response.

Now, can you do something about the miserable heat here in the midwest? I was looking for an Excel function to reduce fusion within the sun's core but couldn't find one. I thought Excel could do anything. Maybe my version doesn't include that add-on.

Thanks again for your help.

Thank you!
After so many years, your suggestion has come in handy for me.
I would have tried atleast 10 other methods (including a personal workbook macro). Nothing worked.
Your method worked and I am so happy.
