Opening csv file without recalculating

Morning all

Whenever I open a csv file either manually or via VBA, Excel insists on recalculating every file that's open, even though I have calculation set to manual.

This is making macros take much longer than they should and often causes errors where files are linking to a closed workbook.

Can anyone suggest a method of avoiding this recalculation?

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Import the CSV data into a new workbook and sheet so that the file doesn't need to be opened.
