OWC11 Speadsheet Painfully Slow?

I have made a VBA userform with an embedded OWC9 spreadsheet using office 2000. But now ive upgraded to office 2007 and i only have OWC11. When i made a simple useform with OWC11 speadsheet it is super slow. It will take one second to fill in a single cell value when interacting with the speadsheet. This is painfully slow becuase this used to be instantaneous. i have disabled events and it is still just as slow.

Is there anyway to speed up the OWC11 speadsheet? i would use OWC9 but i can not download it anywhere. Is there any alternitives to OWC11?
