panel data and errors in decimal points

I am writing this question since excel does not allow any calculations with my data and if I import my data to stata. Nothing is allowed either way. I think it has something to do with the decimal points. Could someone explain by variable with example how I should solve this

Looking at your picture all your "numbers" are left justified this implies that they excel thinks they are character strings ( often the case for imported data) you need to convert them to numbers. There are various ways of doing this, have alook at this web site:
