Parameter value issue

I am running a query where I ask for the MAX date of a field titled DATE from a table titled SOC DATA. In the query I perform a [Enter xxx] from a different titled field within the query - not the date field. When I run the query, I get the prompt to Enter XXX, as it should be...but I also get a prompt for SOC DATA.DATE. The latter is NOT a field that I have ANY parameter request in ANY query. The query is using my main table - SOC DATA as the sole table from which to draw information. Why am getting a prompt to enter 2 parameters into a query where I have only 1 parameter request in the query? This is driving me nuts.
I ignore the SOC DATA.DATE prompt, simply hit enter, and my data returns normally. I don't want the SOC DATA.DATE prompt to show. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
If you have a field in your query that no longer exists, or is misspelled, it will show up like that (appearing to be a parameter query).
Also if your query uses and other queries as data sources, it will prompt with any parameters those underlying queries may use.

Does that field actually exist an underlying table?

Excellent point Alan.
One should never used reserved words as field names or variables.

Yes. The DATE field exists in the SOC DATA table. My query is not using other queries, just using the SOC DATA table to get the information. Thanks for this direction. I will review for mis-spellings. How would one resolve the issue of fields no longer existing? I have removed fields in some instances, but don't recall their names.
