Do you want to protect a sheet or the workbook structure?

I am using Microsoft Office 2010.
It is a spreadsheet in Microsoft excel.
Am I right to consider that is a spreadsheet?
I am not sure what the workbook is. sorry.

On the Review tab you can protect the workbook (the file) or sheets within the workbook.

There are 2 options, Protect sheet and protect workbook.
Which one is better for me purpose?
For example, user is allowed to enter a value for calculation but user is not allowed to change the formula in the cells that contain formula.

So you need to protect the sheet but allow entries in some cells.

Select the whole sheet, press CTRL + 1 and on the Protection tab untick Locked and click OK.

Press F5, click Special, tick Formulas and click OK.

Press CTRL + 1 and on the Protection tab tick Locked and click OK.

Protect the sheet.
