Hello,
Hope you can give me a hand with this. I am updating a stock take sheet with cost prices exported from a till system.
First of all, I am terribly sorry if this has been covered before; I do not even know how to search this!
The stock take is laid out in a specific order (it's not a numerically ordered lists of PLUs).
I was wondering if it is possible to sort my exported cost price sheet in the same order as the stock sheet follows.
I am not sure if I am making sense...! It may be clearer in the attachment. Basically, I would like the sheet on the right to be sorted by Column A, and Column A matching the order of the left sheet's Column A.
Is this possible at all?
Thank you so much for your help!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Hi James006,
Thank you so much for your help and quick response. Unfortunately, that did not work. I tried to create a custom list using column A ($A$1:$A$127), but when I click "Import" I get a message saying "cells without simple text were ignored".
I formatted column A to text and tried again but no joy.
Could you help with this?
Thanks a million!

Hi again,
If for some reason... the custom list does not function as you would like ...
another possibility for you is add a helper column with exactly the numbering you need ...
