Hello,

I copied a block of cells from one workbook and pasted as a link into another workbook. Most the cells linked perfectly, however, some random cells return #N/A error.

When I open the originating the file, it works.

The originating file contains no formulas, just values (no special formats)... and the errors are random... the adjacent cells are linked fine.

Please help.

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Hi, I'm not sure why you are getting the random #N/A values; however you'll probably have better results in general if you use formulas to Link the Cells in one workbook to another.

If you are linking all the cells on Sheet1 of Book1.xlsx to the corresponding cells in Book2.xlsx, with both workbooks open enter this formula in Book2.xlsx...
='[Book1.xls]Sheet1'!A1

Now just copy and paste that formula to cover the range of cells that are to be linked.
