paste special problem

I am trying to copy a set of filtered data into a PPT presentation. I am copying the selection, then using Paste Special to create an object in PPT. When I open the object, most of the data that I copied isn't there. It appears that the rows in the object are still filtered, but there's no data in the cells.

It was working then all of a sudden Excel through a hissy fit and decided to not work.

Any ideas on what's going on and how to fix it?
