How can pause a macro and wait for user to press a key.

I am making a little exercise for my students.

I have the timer problem set but when the user clicks the button, i want the macro to start but then immediately pause.

when user hits any key, the macro starts the timer.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
You can only pause if your macro ends. Just put "onkey" command at the end of your macro like this when you press enter, your macro starts again and say "yes" then disables the second use of enter.

Sub test()
Application.OnKey "~", "testa"

End Sub

Sub testa()
MsgBox "yes"
Application.OnKey "~", ""
End Sub
