Personal Macro Workbook; Excel creates a new one

I have had been writing 28 different macros into my Personal Macro Workbook on Excel. Mac 2011 version. Today, I opened the file and redid a macro and saved it. Came back to record it again with other changes and every time I do, the system creates a New Personal Macro Workbook and saves it there. This new workbook is hidden. If I unhide it; it is labeled Personal Macro Workbook. The one I have been using for weeks. is titled Personal Macro Workbook.xlsb.

What happened? I want only one workbook with all of the macros in it. And when I record I want them going to it.

Does anyone have any ideas on l how to fix this?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
For me, its easier to create my macros in a non-personal workbook, edit and test them, then copy them over to a module in the PERSONAL.XLSB file. But you can also directly record a macro to the personal workbook. Just select that workbook from the dialog box that pops up just before you start the recording. Look for "Store Macro In" and select the personal workbook to save the macro.

Thank you for the suggestion. I used your suggestion to copy from the existing macros and paste into the workbook through VB Module. I did not realize I could do that.
thanks for the input.
