Pie Chart location within plot area

My exploded pie in 3D has the annoying habit of only taking up the bottom 70% of the plot area when there is only 1 entry (the whole pie). This has lots of whitespace between the top of the pie the title, which management dislikes.
When there are several, say 4 entries (slices), the pie nicely fills the plot area, which is what I want.
Is there a way to always have the pie fill the plot area?
