Hi and thanks in advance!
I have a Pivot table with a few Filters and a Value showing only How many Items, and/or rows

My Filters are within the Pivot Table are:
  • Continent (5 Continents)
    • Europe
    • Africa
    • America
    • Oceania
    • Asia
  • Country (Over 150)
  • Region (Over 400)
My Problem when I filter by Continent, selecting Europe, I can See within Countries, Every single country no matter if Mexico does not belong to to Europe
Is there a way to avoid this ( I do not want to use slicers)
Thanks again

Excel Facts

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Explain why you do not want to use slicers? (as this is the way to have dependant filtering, I say ... and probably the only way)

Hi!
1- Because I know how to accomplish this task using slicers. So I would like to know if there is any other way
2- Most of the people in our company are using laptops, and 5 slicers in a small screen covers most the window.
3- I do not want to use other sheet for the slicers.
4-The long of the text sometimes it's huge, and use the 1st character, makes me need more slicers

5 slicers? You've only got 3 items to filter. Please explain?

The eg I am providing is just for this forum, My real problem has 5 filters, and in my language.
But I don't think is necessary to put all of them with the real heading, because no one is going to understand:
-Egindako itzulpena
-Zergatik
-Ondorioekin akordioa
-Izen Abisenak
-Emaitzak
Continents, Countries... explains much better What I am trying to know, I mean why I can select Mexico and Europe though the filters
If the answer is no possible rather than using slicers or events macros (not good 4 me)
Then, Thanks and do not worry.

"Continents, Countries... explains much better What I am trying to know, I mean why I can select Mexico and Europe though the filters" ... this makes no sense to me. Your original example was by hierarchy, and dependant filtering via slicers would work ... like, only countries in Europe would appear in the Countries slicer once Europe has been selected as Region.

OK,
Mexico does not belong to Europe.
Using slicers is impossible to select Europe and then Mexico, or Mexico and then Europe, because slicers avoid this possibility.
I mean if you select Europe, Mexico will be disabled.
I do not want to use slicers (Please, don't ask me why)

My question:
Is it possible to use page filters in a pivot table and select first Europe, and see Mexico disabled?
Or select first Mexico, I get only America enabled?
I think this is impossible but who knows, I do not know, this is why I am here.

No, I do not know a way, using native PivotTables. Maybe someone else has some ideas ... bearing in mind that slicers are not to be used.
