I need some help here guys! I've created a pivot table as the following:

Column A going down is Purchase Order
Row 1 going across is Classification

In essence, a PO has 3 difference classifictions that have a unique Activity number... I want it to look like this...

PO.......Class 1......Class 2......Class 3
#1.......12345.......23456.........34567
#2.......45678.......56789.........67890

and so on and so on... however, the "activity numbers defined under each class are being "summed". I guess what I'm trying to accomplish is not SUM the info in the "DATA" area... i simply want to SEE the DATA!! How do I make it to show the actual activity number, and not the sum of how many isntances have that po number? help is much appreciated!!! Thanks!

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Are you saying that you can have several "activity numbers" for each PO / Class permutation ?

If yes, suggest adding "activity number" as a second column on the left hand side of the pivot table.
Then, change the field setting for the data to MAX.
