I created a pivot table. The data has a column with dates. Is it possible to count the data that has a range of dates. For example, the data has dates from 5/1/70 to 8/25/2021. I would like to count the number of observations that occur in 2021.

I would like to count the data that was created in 2021. Picture of data below.

Thank you very much for your help.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
In principle yes but in practice, if you have any text values in the date field and that includes a formula returning a "" it will disable the grouping function.
And you currently have text values in your date columns.

If the column was free of text columns and you put the date field in a Row or Column field, when you right click on it you should get a Group option.
If you select it you should get more options. If the field is not clean you will "Cannot group that selection"
Depending on your settings if the field is all dates you may even get a Year & Month field generated automatically.
