I have table1 that lists portable buildings we are building to go to specific locations by groups. I then created a pivot table from table1. Table1 contains many columns 1 of which is length. My pivot table also includes length in the field list. So when I have the pivot table arranged by the location I normally just drag the length column just the few cells in that group to make sure the total length does not go over the max allowed for the load and that's when I discovered that my status sum is not picking up the number 18. For ex. I have a 10, 16, 18, and 14 long buildings so that should add up to 58 but when I drag the 4 cells in the pivot table the status sum only shows 40. Any ideas why this is happening? I have checked the cell formatting and changed it several times but it still continues.

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Hi

Perhaps that cell is data type TEXT. Check with ISNUMBER() or ISTEXT().
