hi

How to efficiently solve this problem?

Data:
Name US Europe
A 3 6
B 2 4
C 8 9

PivotTable:
Row Lables = Name
Values = Sum of US1, and Sum of Europe

This gives a summary of absolute values.
Now - I want to see the data as % - ie A should have 33% in US, and 67% in Europe.

I though could use %Row Total for this, but I couldn't. You cannot even add a Grand Total because it doesn't think of a row consisting of Name + Value columns.

I ended up using the absuolute values, and calculating manually with a of cutting and pasting along the way. Seems like there should be an easier way.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
There's is a work around for this in Excel 2010:
1) while a cell in your table is selected use this keyboard shortcut Alt-D-P. This brings up the "PivotTable and PivotChart Wizard".
2) Choose "Multiple Cosolidation ranges", and leave "Pivottable" selected. Then click "Next"
3) Let the "Create a single page field for me" selected and click "Next"
4) Choose the "Range" of your table and click "Next"
5) Choose if you want the Pivottable in a new worksheet or in a existing one and click "Finish"
6) In the Pivottable you do as before, Rightclick a value and choose "Show values as" - "% of row total"

Now it should look like you want it to (I hope)
