Pop up in Excel?

I am putting together a spreadsheet with some rather complicated needs. Upon entering a 6-digit style, a conversion factor is referenced via vlookup. When yards are entered, pounds are calculated using the conversion factor. When a jet number is entered, the jet type is referenced. This is where it gets a little sticky.

Based on the jet type, I want to reference weight (lb) specifications to show the lower and upper specification. Then, I want to compare the calculated pounds to the upper and lower specs, and a pop up message to appear if the calculated pounds are out of specification. I also want the specs that are not related to the referenced jet type to disappear and only the specs for the particular referenced jet type to be visible.

The tab with the weight specs has a style comments section, I would also like a pop up message with the comment for the style to be displayed upon entering the 6-digit style, if possible.

Can anyone PLEASE help?? I'm desperate!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
A friendly tip, your post is filled with logical and sequential theory but without any range, sheet, or conditional details upon which many Excel people tend to require for offering a substantive solution. You know what your workbook looks like and how it is organized, but no one reading this has seen your workbook and would not know how to reference the comparisons, lookups, or what have you.

Try taking a smaller portion of your overall project and ask it as a question to get started on the process. For example, your sentence here could be a headline senetence of the post:

Based on the jet type, I want to reference weight (lb) specifications to show the lower and upper specification.

The subject line could be
Lookup specs based on criteria type

Your details would include ranges where you have this or that, give an example of what you input, with an example of expected resulots, and the logic (the "why") of how you arrive at an expected result.

Then maybe you get that piece moving and other ideas flow.
