Kindly help me with a code or formula to find the solution for the following. I am a newbie to excel and beginner, here is my problem:

Data in sheet 1:

COLUMN A: SCRIP NAME COLUMN B: POSITION

x 1
y 2
z 3

Data in sheet 2:

COLUMN A: SCRIP NAME COLUMN B: POSITION

x 2
y 1
z 3

I want the result in the Sheet 3 as follows:

COLUMN A:[Scrip name] COLUMN B[Position in sheet1]: COLUMN C: [Position in sheet2]

x 1 2
y 2 1
z 3 3

and the number of List may vary from sheet to sheet, but the unique in both sheets by scrip name should be in the sheet 3.

Kindly someone here help me, please.

You could use Vlookup()

e.g. for Sheet 1 info =Vlookup(A2,Sheet1!$A$2:$B$1000,2,FALSE)

for sheet 2 info =Vlookup(A2,Sheet2!$A$2:$B$1000,2,FALSE)

where A2 contains the first lookup value.

adjust ranges to suit and copy formulas down.
