Hi Folks,

Is it possible to insert a blank column into query editor so that I can then filter and add additional info in the column just created?

Thanks

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Hi,
If I get what you want, you would like to add an empty column in Power Query, load the Query into Excel, then use that empty column to add comments?
Well yes you can do that but your comments will not be linked to the rows.

If your rows have an ID, maybe you can create an extra table with 2 columns, ID and Comments, and copy paste the ID of each row you want to comment, then add your extra info.
Afterwards you could merge the queries if that's what you want.

Does that help?
Olivier.

Hi All thanks for the replies,

I'm new to power query so forgive me for being stupid. I've managed to add a blank column. The next step I was planning after adding the blank column was filter Company business unit by SCS (Column M)and add "Drilling" (column n) then filter by the next Unit SFE(in column M) and add Production (column N) and so on how ever when I did the first filter the rest of the company business units disappeared. I know what you are describing might work but, do I create another tab on the source data and add the table described in above? can you link two tabs of data? Again sorry for probably asking stupid questions.
