I'm new to using PowerPivot but very proficient in Pivot Tables. After I import data from a CSV file into PowerPivot (regardless if data was recognized on import as various types or as all text) I then, column by column, set the Data Types to Decimal, Whole Numbers, Dates, etc as needed and I also set the formats accordingly.
However, when I finally get to the subset of data needed for distribution from the PowerPivot Pivot Table (using slicers), when I select the details I need for distribution (using: PowerPivot "show details"), it pulls the correct number of rows BUT all of the column details is pulled in as TEXT format. The columns are: Left aligned, Text Data Type, and I can't adjust / change the format fixed by manually trying to change them. I don't want to have to copy and paste values and then convert all columns again. Any insight is appreciated! (I hope I'm just missing something simple).
