I have entered recipes into an excel file and would like to now print them on labels that I can stick to rolodex cards. These recipes don't have directions just "ingredients". I have tried to follow the mail merge directions in Word but I just don't get it to work. It keeps coming up with all the labels saying "next record" - ugh what does that mean? And how do I get each one organized so they print right? I have 90 recipes and although the recipe name is in col A some of them are 2 rows long while others might be 5 rows. Is this hopeless?
Thanks so much for any help!!!

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Probably not 'hopeless' but if the data isn't in a consistent format then Word will struggle merging it. At the very least every column will need a unique heading (all on the same, top, row) and if there are any merged cells it will get upset.

The 'next record' you keep seeing might well be an automatically inserted 'rule' by Word if you chose to use 'labels' in your Mail Merge and then clicked 'update labels.' Clicking 'Preview Results' (2007/10) or '<<ABC>>' (2000/03) will show how the merge will look post-completion.
