Problem with incorporating data range in formula

Hello everyone,

I have an add-in that is a function of a data series in one column and a fixed number, for example: =ttest(A1:A200,3) . I am going to prepare an Excel template for this excel add-in which have two field for our inputs column A for series data and cell B1 for the fix number that will be filled up by users, and the output which shows the results for “ttest” function based on inputted-data, but the data length in column A would vary every time users want to input how can I find the length and address it in my add-in function formula to get the correct answer in result’s cell.

It would be more accurate if we saw your add-in code.... but in theory, you'd set the range in the function the way you've shown. Then in the function you would make sure you process only the cells in the range that have a value in them.

Code:

Function ttest(MyArr As Range, MyNum As Long)
Dim cell as Range

For each cell in MyArr.SpecialCells(xlConstants)

    'do stuff here


Next cell

End Function

thank you, actually I wrote my function in MATLAB and turn it to add-in using EX-Builder and I think I cannot recall it in VBA is there any other way for doing this despite using VBA code? Thank you in advance.

It's now unclear what you're even asking. How can we insure your macro behave in a specific way without access to your code?

Are you asking something about the way you write the formula?

the add-in is ready and work in Excel properly (it used MATLAB compiler) when you specify the range in your function but I just want to make it flexible for other inputs length.

Based on your description you can set the second parameter to any range of cells you want, that looks flexible to me.

Are you saying you want them to be able to enter the first and second parameters as cell references, I think you can. This should work, too:

=ttest(A1:A200, B1)

...as long as B1 holds an acceptable value.
