problem with paste special

I have a *simple* database listing people and a large number of data in respect of each person.

I use auto filter in order to get the section of the list I need.
Then I use EDIT /PASTE SPECIAL to paste just that list into a new sheet.

I constantly get different rows and not the section I selected.

Can anyone give me a hint of what I am doing wrong?

Thanks!

thank you so much for your patience in trying to solve my problem.
tonight I discovered my mistake and the solution.

I realize that in order to copy and paste special I first have to copy the whole table and "paste special" to a different "page" in the "book" and then work on this.

thanks a lot!

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
