I have an access database that had mistakenly had some embedded images for buttons and for an image control on a continuous form. This made the DB over 53MB with little in it. To try and figure out where the size was coming from i made a copy of the database and then deleted every single form, table, query, report, etc. and that only reduced the DB size by a few MB. For the life of me I can't get rid of the embedded images.

I have also repeatedly compacted and repaired the database after every change and deletion.

The reason i believe the size is due to embedded images is that if i go to a controls properties and choose, there is a list of maybe a 100 images many duplicates of the same thing that still comes up. This empty database below is still at 50MB.

HOW TO PURGE THE IMAGE GALLERY TO REDUCE DATABASE SIZE

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
I have come across this before - they are probably stored in a system table. You would have to go into options and elect to show system tables then open them until you find the one with the attachments. Sorry, I cannot recall the name of the table. IIRC the record entry looks like a paper clip; can't recall if there is anything that id's the record as a pic (e.g. the location or name of the original file). You could then delete these records but I would not try this without creating at least one backup of your db first.

The alternative is to start with a new db and import all forms, reports, etc. and remove the references to the images but you'd then have to run everything to ensure there are no error messages from a form looking for its embedded pic.
