Hi

Super basic problem but it confounds me and probably always has! I want to know the solution.

I had a link copied into a cell then got rid of it - instead I just need basic text in that cell now.

But as soon as I start typing, it turns it into a blue, underlined "link" type of text. If I backspace it, it reappears. If I "delete" the whole cell content, it still reappears. I'm sure in Word there is a "remove hyperlink" context menu option but not here.

How do I stop it formatting this way?

Thanks.

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
In the 'editing' section of the ribbon you'll find an eraser button that you can use. Click the down arrow and choose 'clear formats'
