hi,

Here's my question:

If I copy a formula (say =c2+c3 with relative cell addressing from a1 to b1, the formula becomes d2+d3. What can I do if I want the formula to say h2+h3. (5 columns further not the next one.

Thank you

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Hello,
Copying cell formulars into other cells can be relative....done by just copying from one cell to another...just as you describe...or copying using the absolute method...ie from a2 to $a$2 (by invoking the F4 key) when you are already positioned in the cell.

Is this the nature of your question....?

Hello STRUDEL:

You can use the OFFSET function to do this -- it is best explained with my simple worksheet simulation ...
