I have a range of approximatly 300,000 cells in which I would like to remove any characters other than numbers or letters (lower & upper case).

The cells can have any combination of letters numbers or anything else (spaces commas full stops etc).

Can anyone assist with this.

I need to automate this as the data will have to be cleansed on a regular basis.

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Try this UDF:

Code:
Function AlphaNum(S As String) As String
  Dim X As Long
  For X = 1 To Len(S)
    If Mid(S, X, 1) Like "[A-Za-z0-9]" Then AlphaNum = AlphaNum & Mid(S, X, 1)
  Next
End Function
