Hi,
I have a sheet with 200 rows and every cell has a comment. The information I need is in the comments. Is there a way to pull the information out of the comment and put the values into the adjacent cell?
Thanks in advance,
Austin

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.

Hello Austin,
Kind of a lot of gray area as to what exactly you're doing but perhaps this will
give you a start.
If you intend to use vba and if by 'adjacent cell' you mean the next cell to the right
then something like this should help.
Code:
Selection.Offset(, 1).Value = Selection.Comment.Text
If this is not what you're looking for then post back with more details and we'll see
where we need to go from here.

Good evening AustinATL

You code use a really simple custom function like this :

Code:
Function CellComm(Rng As Range)
Application.Volatile
CellComm = Application.WorksheetFunction.Substitute(Rng.Comment.Text, Chr(10), "")
End Function

Stick the code into a norml module, and then use something like this in B1 to show the comment in A1 :

=CellComm(A1)
