reply to plettieri about my excel prob. help with finding eq

my teacher said she wants us to have excel find the eq of the line. ex: y= 2x+5 and the eq needs to be displayed on the graph itself

You should not open a new "subject" for each reply to the same subject....this will clutter up the board for searching later on. You should use the "reply" button on the bottom of the message box.

Have you tried using the search feature on this forum...I am not familar with extracting the formular as you need....until some of the excel guru's get on lne you might try researching this yourself on the search feature of this forum....it works great.

With your chart displayed, Chart menu, Add Trendline.

On the Type tab select "linear"

On the Options tab tick Display equation on chart

how do i change the scale for my x and y axes on my x y scatter graph. my values are extremely small numbers ex .0000234 and my graph is screwed up. its a horizontal line even thought it shouldnt be
please help me

Right click the axis, Format Axis.

On the Scale tab change the minimum, maximum and so on to suit your data.
